Everyone knows that professional footballers earn an incredibly high salary, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they will flaunt their wealth and spend it on watches. However, what do you buy when you have all the money in the world as a footballer - it leads to many interesting wristwatch choices and being in the famous profession that they are, it gives them access to not only the expensive and readily available timepieces, but also some ultra-exclusive and rare pieces that money couldn't buy for some. Here are footballer watches from this world cup.

Here is a short list of some of the most incredible watches seen so far at the World Cup 2026, spotted on the wrists of some of football's biggest stars.

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is a strong and well-known ambassador for the luxury watch brand, Breitling. This watch was released in a set of 3 Pieces, 2 Chronographs and One GMT, all in collaboration with the footballer, and all limited editions, with Erling Haaland's name engraved on the back of the case, and the GMT piece also has Erling Haaland's signature football celebration on the caseback too. This particular Chronomat 42 B01 Haaland wears upon arrival here retailed for £43,700, and has since sold out, but can still be bought second-hand for around £35,000 - £40,000. Whether this piece would be his personal choice of watch outside of being a Brand Ambassador for Breitling is unknown, yet it is still a limited watch and worth a large sum, so makes this shortlist.

Neymar Jr

Neymar Jr's watches this world cup have been widely reported, since he met Mr Jacob Arabo to seal a deal on a new timepiece during his stay in America. His other watches have been incredibly rare and limited pieces, worth just as much as the recent Jacob and Co. watch that he has purchased.

The least expensive piece seen on Neymar's wrist at this world cup is a Full Factory-Set Diamond Patek Philippe Nautilus, Reference number 5811/1460G-001, part of Patek Philippe's Haute Joaillerie collection of watches, featuring 195 Baguette diamonds and 1,285 Brilliant-cut Diamonds, making this piece incredibly expensive and rare, and therefore almost impossible to get at retail, even if you are fortunate enough that money can buy this unbelievable piece. At retail, this piece costs a sizable £566,750, but it is more likely to get it on the secondary market, at a price of around £500,000 to £750,000.

It feels wrong to say, but that is the cheaper piece that Neymar was seen wearing at this year's World Cup, with the widely-reported Jacob and Co. Astronomia Dragon and Tiger with Baguette diamonds being the more popular piece in the media, likely due to the insane price tag that comes with the piece. Reference Number AS912.40.AA.AB.A, this Jacob and Co. timepiece is crafted from Pink Gold and encrusted with 286 Baguette Diamonds. Housed in this case is an in-house hand-wound movement JCAM42 with 48 Hours of Power Reserve, a tourbillon movement. This piece was reported to have been purchased by Neymar for $1Million, but is it better than the Patek Philippe?

Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay, Netherlands forward is spotted arriving on the team bus with the Rolex Day-Date 36mm Turquoise Stone Dial with what is likely the diamond-set bezel variant of the timepiece. The case and Bracelet are created from 18K Yellow Gold, and it looks that it is the diamond set Roman Numerals inside the dial. It is unclear by the images whether this is the Fluted Bezel or the Diamond bezel variant, but based on Depay's style and relatively unrestricted budget, it is likely the diamond bezel piece. This piece is one of the most popular in the diamond bezel Day-Date collection, with other dial variants, yet this turquoise edition sells on the secondary market for around £80,000 - £100,000.

Julian Nagelsmann

Germany's Head Coach Julian Nagelsmann appears to have a moderate budget for his watches, compared to some of the players, at least. He seems to be wearing the black dial IWC Ingenieur 40mm, a classic and history-rich sports-watch at a reasonable retail price-point of £10,100, and around £8,000 on the second-hand markets, however this piece is generally available at retail unlike others on this list. Reference Number IW328901, this piece boasts an impressive 120 Hours Power Reserve, which is housed in a Stainless Steel case and supported by a Steel bracelet. Julian Nagelsmann seems to have a soft-spot for IWC, having been seen wearing the Lake Tahoe Pilot's Chronograph earlier in the World Cup Campaign.

It is interesting to see the choices of watches that football players wear, as it reflects the character and attitudes to money and the brand and style of watches reflect the type of person they are to the wider press and media, or in Erling Haaland's case, shows his partnerships and business ventures outside of Football.
