AI Predicts Future Watches for Big Brands: Insights and Trends

AI predicts big brands' next watches - the next top releases from AP, Patek, Rolex and more, with industry data and design language trends and current industry insights to inform its decisions.

AI Predicts Future Watches, from Rolex to Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and more.

We asked AI to give us their best predictions on what is the next watch being released from some of the top brands in the luxury watch market, along with an image of what the predicted watch will look like as AI predicts future watches. We asked it to use current watch industry trends, predicted direction of brand's collections and future trends of materials and styles to inform their predictions, and create a ultra-realistic visualisation of the watch to help us picture creations.

1. Rolex

Rolex's prediction from the AI is a fairly easy guess, and it may have been influenced by all of the hype and the recent events linked with the discontinuation of the Rolex GMT-Master II 'Pepsi', which lead many people to speculate the return of the Coke - another previously discontinued fan-favourite of the GMT-Master II Collection. Many fans see Rolex removing the Pepsi-Coloured Bezel Variant as a way to make space for the return of the 'Coke' Colourway of the GMT-Master II, and clearly AI is believing this too, unless it has taken too much influence from social media and forums. There is weight to the rumours of the 'Coke' being released in the place of the 'Pepsi' however, since Rolex have submitted and been granted a Patent for the Black and Red Cerachrom Bezel back in 2024, so we could be seeing a new 'Coke' GMT-Master II in the next 12 Months.

2. Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet have an interesting prediction from the AI, with one of their lesser-known collections predicted to receive an addition. This collection being the RE[MASTER] Collection, an unspoken set of watches that have very much been a quiet and secondary talking point of AP, yet are home to pieces that bring the history of the brand to the forefront of modern watchmaking, and revitalises the designs with the modern technology, therefore this 'Coin' design that AI has predicted fits the mantra of the collection well, and could well be a possibility, since the RE[MASTER] Collection sees new watches once every few years, in small quantities when they do appear. The 'Coin' design would bring nostalgia and heritage to the modern collection, as this style was iconic in the 1960's and 70's. AI has imagined AP would execute this watch with unique logo-engraved lugs, and a beads-of-rice / Milanese bracelet. The dial on the proposed watch looks particularly interesting, with varied textures and levels, with the minute repeater and Breguet Indices for the classic historic aesthetic.

3. Omega

AI's prediction for Omega is slightly rogue, and also not very 'out-there'. It has used the Heritage Omega Seamaster 300 Summer Blue, Reference 234.30.41.21.03.002, and added a layer of texture and different depth around the centre movement pinion, and re-named it to the Deep Nebula. Fortunately, it seems like this is not likely to happen, since this watch already exists without the dial textures, and for Omega to revisit and add dial texture in the same nature as this for the Seamaster 300 Heritage Collection, it would feel like Omega focusing on the wrong area of design, as Omega's brand positioning is similar to that of Breitling, in which the brands have taken the functional and practical route to watchmaking, with precious metals and jewellery taking a secondary position in the Omega priorities, therefore dial designs on a heritage collection may take away from the classic design and it doesn't add to the technical specification of the pieces or improve the functionality.

4. Patek Philippe

While this prediction is similar to the 5172G, AI predicts that this creation will be less formal and less traditional chronograph style, and more of a crossover and combination of a sporty, affordable chronograph, as AI predicts it will be a stainless steel chronograph with crocodile strap, minimising costs and making a complications watch affordable and priced around the entry point, giving people other options to enter the brand's ecosystem, rather than Calatrava's or Aquanauts. A modern take on the chronograph, combining the 5905 and the 5172G, it has sporty appeal with chronograph practicality and function, without compromising on quality - a slightly safe prediction since it is similar to other watches, but AI believes this is the next watch from Patek Philippe, according to industry trends and information.

Which watch from this list is your favourite, and which do you think is the most likely? Our personal favourite is the Audemars Piguet Coin RE[MASTER], since AI has generated something rogue and not just entirely followed previous designs or adapted a Royal Oak, therefore choosing the RE[MASTER] collection is feasible for a release and makes sense, yet is different and imaginative rather than just combining current models.
